Our extensive Health and Safety orientation ensures that all Nexus Staffing associates will have the necessary knowledge to work safely while emplyed at our clients' facilities. Our Health & Safety orientation includes but is not limited to:
- WHMIS Awareness Training (Including video and testing)
- Work Refusal Chart
- Ergonomic Orientation
- Reporting Accidents / Injuries / Illness
- Near Miss Reporting
- Proper Lifting Techniques
- Employees Roles and Responsibilities
- Right to Refuse Unsafe Work (as per OHSA)
Custom Screening & Service Options
Many of our clients have benefited from our custom screening and service options. Although our standard processes are in depth and effective tools, each of our clients' staffing requirements and expectations are unique. Nexus Staffing offers unprecedented flexibility by partnering with you to develop, implement and execute custom screening and training programs developed specifically for your company. Our goal is to become a valuable extension of your Human Resource Department. Some of our customer options include but are not limited to:
- Site specific WHMIS awareness training
- On-location tours and service
- Presentation and employee sign off of client specific Health & Safety programs and policies
- Distribution and supply of specific safety equipment
Screening & Selection
At Nexus Staffing, we execute diligent testing and screening for all applicants.
Our standard procedures include the following:
Legal Work Eligibility
Our recruiters and management are trained to validate and monitor the following documentation:
- SIN Number and Government-issued ID
- Work Permits/Study Permits
- All documentation is flagged in our automated system for expiry/renewal dates
- Our diligent enforcement of these critical elements ensures your company will benefit from thoroughly screened workers that are legally entitled to work in Canada
Skills & Aptitude Testing
Our thorough application process generally takes our candidates approximately one hour to complete. The process includes the following elements:
- Copy of relevant certificates are obtained and filed (forklift licenses and other designations)
- Licenses and designations are monitored for expiration and validity
- Math and Measurement testing is conducted and assessed
- English and Grammar testing is conducted and assessed
- Personal interviews are conducted and work history is assessed
- Goals of the candidate are assessed
- Candidates are matched according to client suitability and entered into Nexus database if the candidate meets or exceeds our hiring standards.
